The National Geologic Map Database (NGMDB) is a project of the USGS and the best source available for locating geologic maps. You can now search the NGMDB catalog of geologic maps directly from all Land Matters Geology Maps.

This targeted search is a quick way to get the Geologic information you need for your research.


Take me to the Geology Maps
Choose a Geology Map from the right side menus, ZOOM IN and use the Identify Tool to query the map. In the results window use the Click for Map List link to access the available maps.

A new tab will open in your browser that shows a list of geologic maps in your area of interest. To keep the list manageable, we have limited the search criteria to bedrock and surficial geologic maps with a scale between 1:1 and 1:500k that are within the 24k quadrangle that you selected. This will provide the most detailed maps available.

Public Land Order No. 7856; Withdrawal of National Forest System Land for the Medicine Wheel/Medicine Mountain National Historic Landmark; Wyoming

Subject to valid existing rights, this order withdraws approximately 4,513 acres of National Forest System land in the Bighorn National Forest from location and entry under the United States mining laws, but not from leasing under the mineral or geothermal leasing laws, or disposal under the Materials Act of 1947, for a period of 20 years to protect and preserve existing heritage resources and American Indian spiritual values within the formally designated Medicine Wheel/Medicine Mountain National Historic Landmark (NHL).

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is processing an application under the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of October 21, 1976 (FLPMA) to convey the undivided mineral interest owned by the United States in 70 acres located in Escambia County, Florida, to the surface owner, Airway Development, LLC.

SUMMARY:

We, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service), announce the reopening of the public comment period on our March 11, 2016, proposed rule to revise the List of Endangered and Threatened Wildlife, under the authority of the Endangered Species Act, by removing the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem population of grizzly bears (Ursus arctos horribilis).

On behalf of the United States, the National Park Service accepted exclusive jurisdiction from the Commonwealth of Kentucky over certain lands and waters administered by the National Park Service within Mammoth Cave National Park. The National Park Service also accepted concurrent jurisdiction between the United States and the Commonwealth of Kentucky on certain lands and waters administered by the National Park Service within Abraham Lincoln National Historic Site, Cumberland Gap National Historical Park, and Fort Donelson National Battlefield.
